Have I Lost my Soul? Design Inspiration from a Satanist

Design by Metastazis

I found this interview with Metastazis founder Valnoir incredibly inspirational.

When I first started freelancing as a designer I had this attitude that my ideas may be weird, but I believe in them—and only clients that love to take risks and can trust me need apply.

Valnoir obviously has the same foundation to his work. From metastazis.com welcome page: Read the rest of this entry »

Map of American Movies

Saw this today on GOOD.

Each state represented by its most closely related movie. (Click for large version)

I wouldn’t agree with all the selections, but most of them made me smile.

I’d definitely put Tommy Boy in Ohio for example.

Which ones would you swap and for what?

Video of Today

This winter I was too depressed for writing and now that it’s summer I’m way too busy.

It’s been fun, but busy.

And the few minutes a week I do have with my computer I actually have to use to catch up on “work.”

Which means strong odors have been lingering, lingering…

So to keep you around til the writing starts again (hopefully Monday) I’m just gonna drop some of my favorite stuff.

I thought I’d call it Video of the Day, but this will never be one of those “video of the day” blogs, and I didn’t think any of my readers would tolerate that kind of irony.

So I’m going with honesty and just calling it video of today.

(even though I know using the SP video “Today” might have made more sense)

2015 is only Five Years Away

I don’t know how many times a week I say “man, I could really use a hoverboard right now.”

I was starting to worry that they might not arrive by 2015 and the whole space-time continuum would be jacked.

Commercials are Awesome

I started producing TV ads about 5 years ago. I’ve never watched commercials the same way since.

These two are both amazing and definitely “work.” I’ll even stop channel flipping just to catch one.
