I’m totally excited to see one of my favorite bands right here in my hometown. These guys put on an incredible show!
I got to do this cool poster for hometown heroes The Accidentals. After a couple rounds of back-and-forth, a “spirit animal” idea came to be.
AND be sure to check out this fantastic young band when they come to your town this year!
The Accidentals Poster Detail
I think it’s pretty obvious why Malika Favre is one of my favorite illustrators. I was stoked to see she’d been commissioned by BAFTA to create art for each of the Best Film nominees for their program & poster designs this year. I always love the simplicity in her work, and the subtle hidden messages in these are especially cool.
Brandi Carlile has a way of writing lyrics that resonate with me personally. Created this poster inspired by her new song “The Eye.”
You can dance in a hurricane, but only if you’re standing in the eye.”
Well no sooner do I post about my exciting new job for a creative startup company, that I’m afraid to announce it has already ended. Anytime you jump into a startup you run the risk of it never starting up at all, and sadly that’s what’s happened this time around.
At least I was able to throw together a few posters this summer. That Brandi Carlile poster with the beer goddess illustration is something I’ll always be proud of, and this concert poster for the Lyle Lovett show in Traverse City turned out pretty cool too.
Several years ago I was commissioned to create a series of posters for the Traverse City Film Festival in honor of John Hughes’ amazing body of work. Obviously I’m a huge fan of practically everything he ever created, so the project was incredibly fun, and was also a great opportunity for me as I was just finding my niche as an illustrator.
I have a handful of these left in my house and I want them gone!
I started a new job recently as the Art & Design Director for a local event production company. Many friends have asked about it, but I have not had time to share any details about the change publicly, since I began right in the midst of our busiest (read: crazy) season and had to jump in with both feet—which honestly is the best way to do anything.
While researching the phrase “no holds barred” for my constantly evolving bio on the About Page, I discovered this AMAZING movie poster.
I cannot decide what is the awesomest part of this whole thing. The color? the Type? the Subtitle?
It might be the guy in the neckbrace or the kid who’s turned around not paying any attention at all..
Oh man.. so many wonderful things captured in a single poster!

Looks like they still have some in their store.
